hedonistiske dele af fx en hjemmeside.<br />
Pace (2004) forslår en klassifik<strong>at</strong>ion, d<strong>er</strong> kan forklare disse alt<strong>er</strong>n<strong>at</strong>ive måd<strong>er</strong> <strong>at</strong><br />
bruge <strong>det</strong> samme medie <strong>på</strong>. Forf<strong>at</strong>t<strong>er</strong>en tal<strong>er</strong> om en måde d<strong>er</strong> har til formål <strong>at</strong> genfinde af<br />
inform<strong>at</strong>ion (instrumental orient<strong>at</strong>ion), og en måde d<strong>er</strong> har til formål <strong>at</strong> slå tid ihjel, for <strong>at</strong><br />
slappe af ell<strong>er</strong> af vane (ritualized orient<strong>at</strong>ion). I <strong>det</strong>te an<strong>det</strong> tilfælde <strong>er</strong> brug<strong>er</strong>e mindre<br />
int<strong>er</strong>ess<strong>er</strong>ede i indhol<strong>det</strong>, og m<strong>er</strong>e int<strong>er</strong>ess<strong>er</strong>ede i oplevelsen af <strong>at</strong> bruge selve mediet.<br />
Und<strong>er</strong>holdende int<strong>er</strong>netsøgning<strong>er</strong> fald<strong>er</strong> und<strong>er</strong> denne k<strong>at</strong>egori.<br />
Søgeadfærd<br />
Elsweil<strong>er</strong>, Wilson og Kirekegaard‐Lunn ([in press]) bemærk<strong>er</strong>, <strong>at</strong> casual leisure<br />
search ikke tag<strong>er</strong> afsæt i et (oprigtigt) inform<strong>at</strong>ionsbehov, men muligvis i et opdigtet<br />
inform<strong>at</strong>ionsbehov, som egentlig ikke <strong>er</strong> vigtig for brug<strong>er</strong>en <strong>på</strong> lang sigt. Dette har som<br />
konsekvens, <strong>at</strong> casual leisure search kan bedømmes som tilfredsstillende, selv om den søgte<br />
inform<strong>at</strong>ion ikke bliv<strong>er</strong> fun<strong>det</strong>. Mansourian (2008b) k<strong>at</strong>egoris<strong>er</strong> søgning<strong>er</strong>, hvis formål ikke<br />
<strong>er</strong> vigtig, i to k<strong>at</strong>egori<strong>er</strong>: trivial search og fascin<strong>at</strong>ing search. Und<strong>er</strong> den første k<strong>at</strong>egori hør<strong>er</strong><br />
de søgning<strong>er</strong>, som brug<strong>er</strong>en let opgiv<strong>er</strong>, hvis d<strong>er</strong> opstår vanskelighed<strong>er</strong>; und<strong>er</strong> den anden<br />
k<strong>at</strong>egori hør<strong>er</strong> søgning<strong>er</strong>, hvor brug<strong>er</strong>en forsøg<strong>er</strong> <strong>at</strong> ov<strong>er</strong>komme vanskelighed<strong>er</strong>:<br />
“[I] fascin<strong>at</strong>ing searches, although the search is not intrinsically important, th<strong>er</strong>e is<br />
an element in the search topic th<strong>at</strong> fascin<strong>at</strong>es search<strong>er</strong>s and consequently they are<br />
p<strong>er</strong>sistent to find the required inform<strong>at</strong>ion. […] the search becomes like a puzzle for us<strong>er</strong>s<br />
th<strong>at</strong> they just want to carry out successfully regardless of the importance of the search topic<br />
for them” (Mansourian 2008a).<br />
Trivial search kan rel<strong>at</strong><strong>er</strong>es til en m<strong>er</strong>e passiv brug af mediet; hvorimod fascin<strong>at</strong>in<br />
search <strong>er</strong> et eksempel <strong>på</strong> en aktiv brug af mediet, som muligvis kan give brug<strong>er</strong>en oplevelse<br />
af kontrol og succes (§ 4.2.3.).<br />
Begrebet ”intellektuel und<strong>er</strong>holdning” (L<strong>at</strong>orre og Soto‐Sanfiel 2011) kan muligvis<br />
også give en forståelsesramme for und<strong>er</strong>holdende int<strong>er</strong>netsøgning<strong>er</strong>.<br />
5.2. En dobbelt model for und<strong>er</strong>holdende int<strong>er</strong>netsøgning<strong>er</strong><br />
Dörk, Carpendale og Williamson (2011) forslår en konceptualis<strong>er</strong>ing af<br />
inform<strong>at</strong>ionssøgning som jeg, integr<strong>er</strong>et med B<strong>at</strong>es (1989) b<strong>er</strong>rypicking‐model, men<strong>er</strong> kan<br />
indfange de oplistede karakt<strong>er</strong>istika af und<strong>er</strong>holdende int<strong>er</strong>netsøgning<strong>er</strong>.
