depth of inform<strong>at</strong>ion th<strong>at</strong> can be gleaned from the World Wide Web<br />

(Chen, Wingard & Nilan 2000)”;<br />

”[…] It is like wand<strong>er</strong>ing in a vast des<strong>er</strong>t wh<strong>er</strong>e you may find<br />

almost ev<strong>er</strong>ything” (Savolainen & Kari 2004, s. 223);<br />

” […] in my view, the Int<strong>er</strong>net is like a big ”keeve” wh<strong>er</strong>e all<br />

kind of things churn up […]” (Savolainen & Kari 2004, s. 224);<br />

“Again, it feels good to be able to access a lot of inform<strong>at</strong>ion.<br />

De ovenstående udsagn vis<strong>er</strong>, <strong>at</strong> bare <strong>det</strong> med <strong>at</strong> have adgang til inform<strong>at</strong>ion, kan<br />

være positivt. Når hjemmesid<strong>er</strong>nes indhold også svar<strong>er</strong> til brug<strong>er</strong>ne int<strong>er</strong>ess<strong>er</strong>, så <strong>er</strong> <strong>det</strong> en<br />

god forudsætning for en nydelig oplevelse. Pig<strong>er</strong>ne d<strong>er</strong> udtal<strong>er</strong> sig i Valkenburg og Soet<strong>er</strong>s<br />

(2001) und<strong>er</strong>søgelse kan fx godt lide <strong>at</strong> finde inform<strong>at</strong>ion<strong>er</strong> om dyr og n<strong>at</strong>ur, mens drengene<br />

foretrækk<strong>er</strong> inform<strong>at</strong>ion<strong>er</strong> rel<strong>at</strong><strong>er</strong>ede til videospil, sport og fj<strong>er</strong>nsynsprogramm<strong>er</strong>.<br />

<strong>Forskning</strong> har identific<strong>er</strong>et karakt<strong>er</strong>istika ved indhol<strong>det</strong> som – udov<strong>er</strong> int<strong>er</strong>esse,<br />

mest sandsynligt kan fremkalde en positiv reaktion. En af de karakt<strong>er</strong>istika, d<strong>er</strong> oft<strong>er</strong>e <strong>er</strong><br />

rel<strong>at</strong><strong>er</strong>et til positive oplevelse ved int<strong>er</strong><strong>nettet</strong> <strong>er</strong>, fund af noget nyt (Huang 2003; Lin,<br />

F<strong>er</strong>nandez & Gregor 2010; Pace 2004). De følgende udsagn <strong>er</strong> af respondent<strong>er</strong> d<strong>er</strong><br />

udtrykk<strong>er</strong> meningen om, <strong>at</strong> <strong>det</strong> nye har værdi i sig selv.<br />

“[…] The Int<strong>er</strong>net is the only place wh<strong>er</strong>e you can find the<br />

newest possible inform<strong>at</strong>ion in many ways […]” (Savolainen 2004);<br />

“[…] Upd<strong>at</strong>ing news is v<strong>er</strong>y diff<strong>er</strong>ent compared to a<br />

traditional newspap<strong>er</strong> which is issued once a day and the int<strong>er</strong>val of
