Creative Business Network“, so Digne.
“The Forum d’Avignon Ruhr is a think-tank, but it wants to act as a ‘do-tank’ as well.” With
these words, Prof Dieter Gorny opened this year’s edition of the Forum d’Avignon Ruhr, and
together with Hervé Digne and Jean-Philippe Gammel, he discussed the European reach
of the Forum. According to Digne, the mission of the Forum d’Avignon has always been to
have an impact beyond the borders of France. It was launched to discuss cultural, social
and economic issues that are relevant at the European level. Eventually, the debate on topics
in the field of tension between culture and the economy led to the cooperation of the Forum
d’Avignon with ecce.
The Forum does not only concentrate on dialogue formats, but also on specific fields of activity,
which means funding opportunities and new business models for culture and the creative
industries. “We always wanted to explore how people, especially in urban spaces, coexist.
And such topics are best discussed with partners who are dealing with similar or even the
same issues. So we’re very happy about this European partnership, be it in cooperation with
ecce or within the framework of the European Creative Business Network,” says Digne.
