AMADEUS Vienna is a founding
member of the Nobel Education
Network. What are the advantages
of this organization?
This interconnected School Network
was founded in 2010 and aims to establish
a global network of international schools. We
support each other in pedagogical expertise and
talent development, which allows our students to
develop skills in a wide range of fields. That makes
it very unique. The fundamental assumption of
this network is, that every child possesses talent
that we want to connect across cultures and communities.
The schools work together to provide an
excellent level of education tailored to each individual.
What is your position in Vienna considering
that there are other established international
schools here?
Each of the international schools in Vienna
has catered to certain sectors of the community
in Vienna with some crossover. Excellence in education
is a goal we all share and pursue, however,
each school has its own uniqueness and culture.
AMADEUS Vienna strives to be truly international
and yet strongly connect to the essence of Vienna
and Austria. This is done through the network
concept of additionally promoting and delivering
a World Topic, which is strongly connected to the
narrative of the host city; in the case of AMADEUS
Vienna, Music and the Arts.
This creative area provides us with a wealth of
connections to subject areas, skills, and challenges
to allow our students to grow creatively. The
fact that we have boarding really sets us apart and
the Nobel Education functions as a strong support
base.
What curriculum do you follow?
We follow the International Baccalaureate. The
IB is the fastest growing curriculum worldwide. Its
major objective is “international-mindedness”, an
awareness and appreciation of the positive aspects
of cultural differences. The main plus is, that it
has been approved to Austria but also internationally.
The IB is a big global network that ensures
international approbation. It is a very strong part
of our network concept.
Our approach to education is founded on project-based
learning where the children strive for
»Every child possesses talent
that we want to connect
across continents, cultures
and communities.
«
significant outcomes which they can be proud of.
Our use of this method reinforces concepts taught
in the classroom and cultivates critical thinking,
problem-solving and presentation skills. People
will always say that school is preparing the children
for the real world, but they are wrong, this
already is the real world.
How would you describe the AMADEUS Vienna
community?
We are a young school in a dynamic, international
network. We have a motto ‘ME, WE, AMA-
DEUS. It is not that we just do school, it is that we
are part of something more. Teachers across the
network share resources and ideas for cooperation.
We are excited about the opportunities we
can offer our community.
