What are the main projects in the economical
bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and
Austria?
We share a number of common standards and
values, including the size and population of our
countries. We both have a very rich cultural heritage.
Around fifty Austrian companies are working
in Azerbaijan now in the construction, tourism, IT
or services sectors. We will organize the first European
Olympic Games in June 2015 and Austrian
companies are engaged in providing the quality
of those games. We have established an Austrian-
Azerbaijani trade chamber in Vienna, which is
formed by more than twelve Austrian and Azerbaijani
companies working in Austria. This platform
is used for promoting our economical relations.
We also have an advisory group to this chamber,
consisting of a group of politicians and decisionmakers.
The second president of the parliament,
Mr. Kopf, chairs it. He has a very good knowledge
of the region and the interests the countries have.
Recently the political situation is changing a
lot concerning the Ukraine-Russia-conflict. What
is your opinion about the new political values?
We see that the power of force is dominating
over the power of justice and law. That is regretful,
because after the Second World War, the world
order was built on the respect of the norms and

in the 13th Viennese district
in Hügelgasse. The building
was bought in 1931 by the
famous Austrian actor Hans
Moser. After his passing in
the year 1964 the villa was
vacant for a long time, when
in 1989 chemist Walter Otto
bought the villa for eighteen
million Schillings to open
the restaurant “Villa Moser”.
Since 2002 the villa has
been used as the Embassy
of Azerbaijan. The building
has been completely
refurbished.

helped to govern and manage interstate relations
in a peaceful manner. Since last year this order
started to change and we saw a lot more violations
of the territorial integrity of states and the use of
force for the acquisition of territories and we cannot
accept this. As one of the countries suffering
from this situation due to the location of our territory
we strongly oppose these attempts. We are in
favour of resolving the conflict by peaceful means
based on the internationally recognized principles
that the territorial integrity and sovereignty
of states should be respected.
Thus Azerbaijan is against the behaviour of
Russia?
