Interactive Robotics Information Evening

Our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) profile
is geared to awaken curiosity, ignite an interest in natural sciences
and technology as well as build confidence in our learners. Our
pedagogical concept starts in the Kindergarten and runs like a
golden thread right through to High School level.
Robotics is highly relevant in this process. Our hands-on
approach helps learners take ownership of the learning process.
They challenge convention by creating solutions and are innovative
for the future.
Drone Technology Exhibited
The Deutsche Internationale Schule Pretoria’s (DSP) showed
off its drone technology during its robotics exhibition on 12
October. The evening themed “Play, learn, create for this future”
show cased the school’s robotics journey, highlighting past successes
and introduced its innovative drone technology as a
future development. Since its inception in 2010 the school’s
robotics programme has gone from strength to strength. The
school represented South Africa at the international World Robot
Olympiads in Malaysia, India, Russia and Costa Rica.
“Though robotics we do not want to fill learners with knowledge,”
says headmaster Norbert Klevenz. “Instead, we want them to explore
possibilities and avenues to solve problems and find answers.”
