Tagesheim Excursion to Maropeng Visitor Centre
On 9 October the Tagesheim children visited the Cradle of Humankind,
the Maropeng Visitor Centre
At the expo we had an adrenaline-pumping ride, because we
rode with little boats on the cave river almost in darkness. It was not
really scary or rough but exciting; the boats were turning around by
themselves. Thereafter we went into the ‘Vortex’ tunnel – a spinning
drum with a bridge which runs through it. The ‘Vortex’ is supposed
to make you think that you are spinning. There are many very old
exotic bones displayed in the centre. I don’t think all of them are
real.
On the way back to school we saw broken trees everywhere next
to the road, looked like there was a terrible storm in the area while
we were enjoying our underground excursion.
