SATURDAY SCHOOL
Saturday School from the
children’s perspective
“The DSP is a very big and nice
school. Frau Koch our substitute
teacher is very cool. Saturday
classes is fun with new
friends. Saturday school’s
teachers are very good
role models. The DSP
has lots of subjects
to learn from. The
teachers at the DSP
will treat you like
their own children.
The DSP has lots of
sports like soccer,
tennis and athletics.
At the DSP you will hear
the laughter of joy. You
will see playful children
enjoying life. My first day
at Saturday School I felt very
welcome. I enjoy being part of
Saturday School. I love playing
with my friend all the time. There is
lots to experience at the DSP. Ms Müller
is lots of fun. Mr Sauti will push you to your
limit and that is very good. Mr Mashazi makes
jokes that will make you laugh, he is so funny. My uncle goes
to the DSP. So when I am alone I know who to go, too. The DSP has
everything organized that what makes it the BEST school I ever
known. Teachers will teach you everything you need to know. That
what makes them the great teachers of the DSP. If you like them
they will like you back.”
„Saturday school is really great. I thought
it would be boring when I first got the
letter from my Grade 3 teacher.
When I showed the letter to
my parents they said I am
moving to a new school. I
was excited but also sad
because I was leaving
my friends behind. This
is what happened to
anyone. The first day
was on the 21 January
2017. As I got on the
bus I felt nervous
because everybody
had a friend they
talked to but I was all
alone. As the driver
went to the next stop I
was surprised but happy
that my friends Nako
and Lethuleng and Naledi
Mofokeng had come. Finally
I had someone to talk to. As
we got to school I realized that I
was in Mr Sauti’s class and I judged
him before I knew him. In my head I was
thinking that he was a clumsy, old man but
once I got to know him he was great. I have always
wanted to come to a Saturday school and I am really glad that the
teachers love us and protect us and make jokes like Ms Müller and
Mr Sauti speaking different and I as a student will be an ambassador
of my school in word and deed. I will always love my school in every
way. I will always be a Deutsche Schule student. Thank you Mam,
boys and girls.“
