SCHÜLERVERTRETUNG (SV)
STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL (SRC)
Aufgabe der SV
Eine wesentliche Aufgabe der SV ist die Kommunikation zwischen
Schülern und Schulleitung und das Vertreten der Schülerinteressen
in ver schiedenen Gremien der Schule. Außerdem sollten alle Mitglieder
der SV eine Vorbildfunktion erfüllen und als Ansprechpartner
für alle Schüler gelten.
Auch alltägliche Aufgaben wie das Helfen im Tuckshop gehören
dazu und natürlich ist die SV ebenfalls für das Wohlbefinden der
Schüler schaft mit verant wortlich. Hier wird der SV freier Spielraum
gelassen: von Events und Filmabenden bis hin zu verschiedenen
Aktionen anlässlich der Feiertage. So bedankten wir uns beispielsweise
am Workers‘ Day mit Blumen bei den Angestellten der Schule,
wid meten uns am Freedom Day einigen Zitaten Mandelas und moti
vierten Schüler am Human Rights Day dazu, einige Grund ge setze
auswendig zu lernen.
Eine besonders spannende Herausforderung an jede SV ist der
Umgang mit den vielen verschiedenen Kulturen an unserer Schule.
It is a richness of the school to have such a diversity of cultures. Together
with all the learners the SV aims to strengthen the family
we call DSP by giving individuals the opportunity to express themselves
and by encouraging team work that transcends cultural
boun daries.
This year all these challenges were tackled by the following SV
members: Lance Senda (Head Boy), Jessica Wolf (Head Girl), Heiko
Damaske (Deputy Head Boy), Ofentse Netshivangane (Deputy Head
Girl), Betül Altintas, Darran Isaacs, Khanyi Masilela, Erwin Güther,
Luyanda Hadebe, Mbali Mditshwa, Tashriq Moerat, Kai Weber, Lea
Klocke and Kimberly Taku.
V-Bash
This year’s Valentines Bash took place under the theme “The Oscar’s”.
The Aula was the perfect setting to enhance the effect of the lighting
and the smoke machine. A professional DJ ensured that the dance
floor was never empty and that excitement prevailed throughout
the evening. Some very talented learners of our school enriched
the evening by sharing their music with us. Another highlight was
certainly the professional dance group that stunned the learners with
their dance moves. Before the night should come to an end, some
students were lucky enough to receive an Oscar award.
We, the SV, were grateful that all the hours of planning were
worth it and that everything went smoothly. All in all, the V-Bash
surely was a huge success and a promising start into the new year.
Other Events
In the beginning of the year the SV arranged a Meet and Greet Day
for the Grade 8s. The Grade 5 and 6 learners gladly attended the
annual movie night, where we embarked on the journey of “Sing”.
The Grade 10-12s were treated with some free food and music at
the “Oberstufen-Braai”. For this year’s Heritage Day learners were
not only allowed to dress up in cultural clothes, but were also
given the opportunity to bring their traditional food along. We
were able to gather and serve food from over 30 different cultures!
Throughout the year we made an effort to support different charity
organisations. Amongst other organisations, we also supported the
Childhood Cancer Foundation (CHOC) financially and by wearing
blue clothes. We showed our support to Reach For A Dream and
conquered the challenge to collect canned food and blankets for
the winter. It is amazing to see how generous and supportive our
school is.
Rückblick
Es ist nicht immer einfach, Events lange im Voraus zu planen und
danach noch alles aufzuräumen. Es ist auch nicht immer einfach,
stets ein Vorbild zu sein und allen Anforderungen gerecht zu werden.
Ob uns dies gelungen ist, werden andere urteilen… Aber eines ist
sicher: Mit der Unterstützung der anderen SV-Mitglieder haben wir
viele Hürden überwunden und vieles zum Positiven verändert. Wir
haben uns Respekt erarbeitet. Als ein unschlagbares Team sind wir
zusammengewachsen und haben erlebt, wieviel stärker wir sind,
wenn alle 14 von uns und die Vertrauenslehrer Frau Greyling und
Herr Chepape zusammen arbeiten. Wir hatten unglaublich viel Spaß
zusammen und haben eine gute Grundlage für die nächsten Jahre
gelegt. Wir wünschen der neuen SV alles Gute und haben keine
Zweifel, dass auch ihr Wunderbares erreichen werden!
Wir gratulieren den neuen Schulsprechern Erwin Güther und
Ofentse Netshivangane und ihren Stellvertretern Patrick Ehard und
Hannah Schulz.
