Gegenstand:
The lecture investigates basic concepts to describe solids and their excitations. Various applications like
superconductivity and magnetism are discussed with emphasis on experimental and theoretical research
directions of the physics department in Cologne.
The lecture will be either in English or German depending on the audience."
Richtet sich an:
Students interested in either theoretical or experimental solid state physics. Knowledge in quantum
mechanics is required.
Leistungsnachweis: Schein
Prüfungsrelevanz:
Master: Part of the primary or secondary "area of specialization" Solid State Theory of the Master program
Diplom: "Wahlfach"
Ashcroft/ Mermin: "Solid State Physics" (more in the lecture),
2 SWS; Vorlesung
Fr. 14 - 15.30, 321b Physikalische Institute, Seminarraum II. Physik J .
