Introduction to the module: October 07, 2011 at 9:00 a.m., BioCenter, room 4.004 (seminar room, fourth<br />
floor)<br />
Lecture: Molecular biology of plant-environment interactions (light signaling, regulation of flowering time,<br />
symbiosis with mykorrhiza, molecular biology of pathogen defense), developmental plant biology, gene<br />
technology in crops.<br />
Tutorial: Students are supported by an interactive tutorial that reviews the contents of the lecture.<br />
Lab work: Genomics in plant molecular biology, molecular imaging, protein-protein interaction studies, cellcell<br />
interaction, affinity chromatography, REAL-TIME PCR for analysis of gene expression, other advanced<br />
techniques of modern molecular and cell biology. Labwork will take place in the teaching laboratory of the<br />
Department of Developmental Biology and at the Max-Planck-Institute for Breeding Research.<br />
