I HAVE taken this insect in plenty on Thorne Moor, York<br />
shire, in company with my good friend, J. C. Dale, Esq. Alas!<br />
it is some years ago; but "auld lang syne" has its pleasures<br />
too, and it would be wrong even to wish the "days that are<br />
gone" changed for those which may be yet to come. "What,"<br />
said the M.P., "What has posterity done for us?" The<br />
"Pleasures of Memory" outweigh in the balance even those of<br />
"Hope."<br />
The following localities are also given for it:—Cottingham,<br />
near Beverley, Yorkshire; the neighbourhood of Cromer, Nor<br />
folk; Delamere Forest, Cheshire; and between Stockport and<br />
Ashton, Risley Moor, Woolston Moss, near Warrington; White<br />
Moss, Chat Moss, Trafford Moss, Lancashire; near the lake of<br />
Derwentwater, in Westmorland; Prestwich Carr, near Gland-
