continues about a fortnight in its "durance vile," and then<br />

the beautiful insect emerges to the full enjoyment of its "little<br />

day."<br />

Individuals vary considerably in the intensity and size of the<br />

markings.<br />

In one, the front edge of the fore wings was slightly<br />

concave.<br />
