United States <strong>Drug</strong> Enforcement Agency<br />

The UNODC project office has a good work<strong>in</strong>g<br />

relationship with <strong>the</strong> US DEA Bangkok .<br />

The US DEA Bangkok periodically seeks<br />

and receives cooperation from Cambodian<br />

law enforcement agencies on matters of<br />

mutual <strong>in</strong>terest .<br />

German technical support<br />

The German Centre for International Migration<br />

and Development (CIM) has provided an<br />

<strong>in</strong>tegrated expert to help support <strong>the</strong> activities<br />

of <strong>the</strong> NACD, particularly related to demand<br />

reduction, treatment and rehabilitation . The<br />

expert is located with<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> NACD Secretariat<br />

and will provide capacity build<strong>in</strong>g for a period<br />

of two years (with possible extension for an<br />

additional two years) .<br />

Government of Sweden<br />

Sweden has provided support to <strong>the</strong> development<br />

of <strong>the</strong> drug control sector <strong>in</strong> Cambodia<br />

through <strong>the</strong> UNODC project (AD/CMB/01/F14)<br />

s<strong>in</strong>ce 2001, totall<strong>in</strong>g over US$1 million .<br />

United States Centers for Disease<br />

Control and Prevention (CDC)<br />

The US CDC provided $20,000 direct f<strong>in</strong>ancial<br />

support <strong>in</strong> 2003 for <strong>the</strong> national workshop<br />

<strong>in</strong> Cambodia . In 2003, <strong>the</strong> CDC also provided<br />

technical assistance and data analysis to <strong>the</strong><br />

NACD Secretariat and UNODC . Contributions<br />

by <strong>the</strong> CDC to NACD, UNODC, National AIDS<br />

Authority and <strong>the</strong> expanded UN Theme Group<br />

on HIV/AIDS throughout 2003 also <strong>in</strong>cluded<br />

skills development <strong>in</strong> relation to HIV/AIDS<br />

issues . The CDC also supported <strong>the</strong> jo<strong>in</strong>t<br />

NACD/UNODC project proposal to donors<br />

to undertake a national basel<strong>in</strong>e quantitative<br />

survey of illicit drug <strong>use</strong> and associated<br />

HIV/AIDS risk .<br />
