(iil Urban towns (hamlets) in KwaZulu administered by the Natal<br />

Townships Board include Hlabisa; Ingwavuma; Mahlabatini; Nkandla;<br />

Nqutu; Pomeroy (Msinga District); Somkele (Hlabisa District);<br />

Ubombo, and Umbumbulu. Towns administered by their own town<br />

boards are Impendle (Hlanganani District) and Nongoma. Services<br />

are provided on behalf <strong>of</strong> the Townships Board and both town boards<br />

by the Community Services Branch, Natal Provincial Administration.<br />

Other urban areas (however defined) include the Limehill Complex (a<br />

closer settlement) and Jozini (the latter only partly administered by<br />

KwaZulu).<br />

(iii) Many informal settlements are evid!!nt in the Durban Functional<br />

Region. The situation is complex and data are not readily available.<br />
