Note: The individual categories constitute an overview. There is a variety <strong>of</strong> social<br />

types and accommodation arrangements. These range from the traditional<br />

allocation <strong>of</strong> land by a chief to the renting <strong>of</strong> sites by landholders or<br />

occupiers; the sub-letting <strong>of</strong> sites by tenants. and the renting <strong>of</strong> rooms or<br />

shacks by landholders and tenants. The proportions <strong>of</strong> the various<br />

categories are estimates only.<br />
