Error Message Checkpoints Corrective Actions Error Code:3101 Is the server operating correctly? Is an authentication method set for which the server cannot respond normally? Error Code:3201 Is a non-supported SMTP authentication method enabled? Error Code:4201, 5101, 5102, 5103, 5104, 7101, 7102, 720f 10-15 Make sure that the network environment (server, hub, or other LAN network) is operating correctly. Check the settings on the server and client. (For example, make sure the SMTP/POP authentication enable/ disable settings are the same on the server and on the client.) Check the SMTP authentication settings on the server and client. The SMTP authentication methods below can be used on the machine. CRAM-MD5 / DIGEST-MD5 / PLAIN / LOGIN – Turn the main power switch off and then on. If this occurs repeatedly, write down the error code that appears in the message display and contact a service technician. (See the procedure in Machine failure. Call service.) Clearing Paper Jams 10-16 Troubleshooting If a paper jam occurs, a message will be displayed about the jam and copying or printing will stop. Remove jammed paper. After removing jammed paper, the machine will re-start printing. Leave the main power switch on and to remove the jammed paper refer to the following information below. Detailed paper jam positions are as follows. Refer to the indicated page number to remove the paper jam. Paper Jam Location Paper jams Description A Paper jam in the multi purpose tray. 10-16 B Paper jam in the machine cassette, or in a cassette of the optional paper feeder. Reference Page 10-18 C Paper jam in the paper feeder. 10-19 D Paper jam in the transfer unit. 10-19 E Paper jam in the document processor. 10-20 If paper jams occur frequently, the specifications of the paper may not be suitable for the machine. Try changing the paper type. For paper specifications, see "Paper Specifications" in the Appendix. Also refer to chapter 2 to how to insert paper correctly. If paper jams still occur frequently even though you have changed the paper, the machine may have a problem. Please contact your service representative. IMPOR<strong>TA</strong>NT: When removing a paper jam, make sure that no torn pieces of paper remain in the machine.
