(recommended setting).<br />

To determine whe<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong> printer honors hardware initialization requests from <strong>the</strong> computer. The<br />

computer requests initialization by activating <strong>the</strong> INIT signal on <strong>the</strong> parallel interface. Many personal<br />

computers activate <strong>the</strong> INIT signal each time <strong>the</strong> computer is turned on and off.<br />

Values:<br />

Off* <strong>Printer</strong> does not honor hardware initialization requests from <strong>the</strong> computer.<br />

On <strong>Printer</strong> honors hardware initialization requests from <strong>the</strong> computer.<br />

Parallel Mode 1<br />

Purpose:<br />

To control <strong>the</strong> pull-up resistors on <strong>the</strong> parallel port signals. This menu item is useful for personal<br />

computers that have open collector outputs on <strong>the</strong> parallel port signals.<br />

Values:<br />

On Disables <strong>the</strong> resistors.<br />

Off* Enables <strong>the</strong> resistors.<br />

Parallel Mode 2<br />

Purpose:<br />

To determine whe<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong> parallel port data is sampled on <strong>the</strong> leading or trailing edge of strobe.<br />

Values:<br />

On* Samples parallel port data on <strong>the</strong> leading edge of strobe.<br />

Off Samples parallel port data on <strong>the</strong> trailing edge of strobe.<br />

MAC Binary PS<br />

Purpose:<br />

To configure <strong>the</strong> printer to process Macintosh binary PostScript print jobs.<br />
