Honor DSR<br />

Purpose:<br />

To determine whe<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong> printer uses <strong>the</strong> Data Set Ready (DSR) signal. DSR is one of <strong>the</strong><br />

handshaking signals for most serial interface cables.<br />

Values:<br />

Off* All data received by <strong>the</strong> serial port is treated as valid data.<br />

On Only data received while <strong>the</strong> DSR signal is high is treated as valid.<br />

The serial interface uses DSR to distinguish data sent by <strong>the</strong> computer from data created by<br />

electrical noise in <strong>the</strong> serial cable. This electrical noise can cause stray characters to print. Select On<br />

to prevent stray characters from printing.<br />

Note: Honor DSR can be used by ports configured for RS-232.<br />

Use <strong>the</strong> Help Menu to find additional information available about your printer.<br />
