must be allowed on that property. City Commissioner Katz seconded the<br />

motion.”<br />

April 4, 2007: Based on the direction provided at the February 1, 2007 Transmittal<br />

Hearing, Planning staff provided an implementation plan to the Long<br />

Range Target Issues Committee (LRTIC) that addressed the 1) FLUM<br />

designation on the Allied Veterinarian Services site, 2) prohibition of<br />

interconnection, and 3) moving forward with a traffic study for the parcels<br />

owned by Mr. Cassedy. Planning staff was directed to continue moving<br />

forward with the ordinances needed to address items 1 and 2.<br />

Commissioners also provided the following directions:<br />

• Provide a traffic accident rate study at the merging intersection of<br />

Thomasville Road and Gadsden Street.<br />

• Provide a speed study and traffic count.<br />

• Need to determine the safety issue first and then address the land use<br />

issue.<br />

May 8, 2007: City Commission approved the Comprehensive Plan amendment to<br />

Neighborhood Boundary on the Allied Veterinarian Services site (4-0).<br />

May 10, 2007: The LRTIC engaged in a brief discussion with Public Works staff<br />

regarding traffic safety near 9th Avenue and Thomasville and directed<br />

staff to provide further information regarding safety, compatibility and<br />

development within this intersection. The item was scheduled to return in<br />

June 2007<br />

May 23, 2007: City Commission approved an ordinance to amend the Neighborhood<br />

Boundary Office zoning district to address compatibility with adjacent<br />

residential uses. This included the prohibition of interconnection issue<br />

identified at the February 1, 2007 Transmittal Hearing.<br />

June 6, 2007: LTRTIC meeting canceled and items continued to July.<br />

July 2, 2007: LRTIC did not accept Public Works recommendations for structural<br />

changes to modify traffic patterns near the property owned by Mr.<br />

Cassedy. Additionally, the LRTIC did not direct staff to file a<br />

Comprehensive Plan amendment on behalf of Mr. Cassedy. The Planning<br />

Department had no pending action items after this meeting.<br />

Nov. 30, 2011: The LRTI Committee met on Wednesday, November 30, 2011. The<br />

Committee directed staff to:<br />
