• Determine client’s perceptions and specific factors that could<br />

lead to sense of loss of dignity. Human dignity is a totality of<br />

the individual’s uniqueness—mind, body, and spirit.<br />

• Note labels/terms used by staff, friends/family that stigmatize<br />

the client. Human dignity is threatened by insensitive, as<br />

well as inadequate, healthcare and lack of client participation<br />

in care decisions.<br />
