Familiarity with VR systems and with PCs was instead<br />

positively correlated with age. People that were more familiar<br />

with PCs needed also to ask additional information on the<br />

system.<br />

However there was no significant relationship between the<br />

level of familiarity with computers and virtual reality, and<br />

the scores reported in the other evaluation categories.<br />

6.5.10. Effect of training.<br />

In the CGAC exhibit two sculptures were randomly<br />

presented to the visitors according to the preferences that<br />

they expressed. This allowed us to compare the answers related<br />

to the haptic experience of the first and second sculpture,<br />

and to estimate the effect of training in the interaction<br />

with haptic device. It is evident the effect of training<br />

for getting acquainted with the application: if we compare<br />

the values of Q6 (1 and 2) and Q11 (1 and 2): there is a<br />

significant difference (Mann-Withney test) of the means of<br />
