to Integrated Production
El Grupo cooperative confi rms that its output will be up by 8% in
the 2008/09 season. It continues to put its money on innovation
in growing new varieties such as cherry plum, yellow cherry and
vine cherry plum tomatoes in different sales formats and fl avours.
During this last season the cooperative has already registered growth
in cherry plum tomatoes, which have risen to 800 t, 30% more than
the year before, and anticipates further increases in this type of cherry
tomato, which has a more intense fl avour than the round varieties.
El Grupo also grows 30,000 t of Dutch-type cucumbers, 3,000 t of
cherry tomatoes, 4,500 t of Italian-type sweet peppers, 3,500 t of
green beans, 3,000 t of watermelons with seeds and 2,000 t of seedless
watermelons (Fashion variety). 75% of the cooperative’s cherry
tomatoes, 60% of its Dutch-type cucumbers and 20% of its watermelons
are exported. Its main markets, by sales volume, are Germany,
Britain, Poland, Spain and Ireland. “We have very good contacts in
Russia and want to develop that market”, said Miguel Manzano, the
El Grupo manager. The cooperative’s quality system is certifi ed under
ISO 9001, UNE 155000, GLOBALGAP, IFS, BCR and Calidad
Certifi cada. “We are also committed to integrated and organic crop
management: they already account for 145 hectares with 15,000 t of
cucumbers and 1,100 t of El Grupo’s cherry tomato sales are grown
by these methods”.

насыщенным вкусом, чем круглые сорта. Компания также произвела 30.000 тонн
голландского и 4.500 т. итальянского огурца, 3.000 т. томатов «черри», 3.500 т.
фасоли, 3.000 т. арбузов с косточкой и 2.000 т. – без косточки (сорт Fashion). El
Grupo экспортировала 75% томатов «черри», 60% голландского огурца и 20%
арбузов в Германию, Англию, Польшу, Ирландию и другие страны. “Мы наладили

del tomate cherry apuesta
por la producción integrada
La cooperativa El Grupo confi rma el crecimiento de su producción
del 8% para la campaña 2008/2009. Siguen apostando por la innovación
en la producción de nuevas variedades como son cherry
pera, cherry amarillo o cherry rama pera, en diferentes formatos de
venta y sabores. Esta última campaña ya ha registrado un incremento
del tomate cherry pera con respecto a la pasada en un 30%, hasta
llegar a las 800Tn y con previsiones de incremento en esta variedad
de cherry, que ofrece un sabor más intenso que las variedades de
cherry redondo. Producen también 30.000Tn de pepino holandés,
3.000Tn de tomate cherry, 4.500Tn de pimiento italiano, 3.500Tn
de judía, 3.000Tn de sandía con pepita y 2.000Tn de sandía sin
pepita (variedad Fashion). Exportan el 75% de su tomate cherry, el
60% de su pepino holandés y el 20% de sus sandías, siendo sus
principales mercados por orden de volumen de ventas, Alemania,
Inglaterra, Polonia, España e Irlanda. “Tenemos muy buenos contactos
con Rusia y queremos desarrollar este mercado”, según comenta
Miguel Manzano, gerente de la empresa El Grupo. Poseen un sistema
de calidad con certifi cación ISO 9001, UNE 155000, GlobalGap,
IFS, BCR y Calidad Certifi cada. “Apostamos también por la producción
integrada y ecológica, que representa ya unas 145 hectáreas con
15.000Tn de pepino y 1.100Tn de tomate cherry”.
