Miffel, the Mediterranean Fruit and Vegetable exhibition,<br />

and Sial, the International Agri-Food exhibition, were<br />

held in France in October. The best fruit and vegetable<br />

innovations of the year were rewarded as follows.<br />

1St prize:<br />

Terr’Loire<br />

A range of vegetables (potatoes, carrots, beetroot,<br />

pulses) cooked to the right point for eating in salads<br />

or heating for 1 minute in a microwave. Presented in<br />

a microwaveable tray with peel-off sealing film. Refrigerated<br />

storage, 21-day eat-by date.<br />

Tomate Jouno<br />

Cherrybaby: selection of the best variety of cherry tomatoes<br />

on the market (12 months a year, no chemical<br />

insecticides) chosen for their taste, presented in natural<br />

wood packaging.<br />

‘Descours harvest’ comprises<br />

three cannily-researched<br />

recipes that enhance<br />

the crunchiness and unique,<br />

Rougeline<br />

The Jadis basket contains 4 to 5 varieties of<br />

heritage tomatoes, with the assortment changing<br />

over the season according to the growing<br />

periods.<br />

Perle du Sud<br />

Fruit Box: the concept of this automatic dispenser<br />

is the result of a study based on a<br />

unique ready-to-eat fresh <strong>produce</strong> pack: Perle<br />

du Sud’s Portions Fraîcheur or Freshness Portions.<br />

A vending machine has been adapted to<br />

dispense the pre-filled cups.<br />

RijkZwaan has developed a new generation of salad products and has chosen<br />

Creno as its exclusive partner in France for the commercial launch of the Diabline<br />

brand to the supermarket and catering sectors.<br />
