Response to Comment Letter from Native American Heritage Commission (NAHC)

1) As discussed in Section 3.5 of the Draft EIR, a surface survey of the Project site was
completed and archival research was conducted at the Northwest Information
Center at Sonoma State University to evaluate cultural resources that might be
present on the Project site. Detailed results of the study are described in the cultural
resources study in Appendix J to the Draft EIR. Despite the potential for historic
occupancy of the site, neither archival nor field research found evidence of
archaeological, historic, or paleontological resources onsite. Mitigation Measures
3.5-1a and 3.5-1b include provisions to address archaeological resources or human
remains accidentally discovered during construction.
