Jim STURGEON – 1 STURGEON – 2 STURGEON – 3 STURGEON – 4 STURGEON – 5 STURGEON – 6 STURGEON – 7 Dear Joel, My wife and I attended the EIR hearing last week on the Fountaingrove Lodge Project and have some questions/issues with the project. 1) The density of the project is overwhelming for that small piece of land. The size and height should be scaled back to something suitable. The retaining walls will be unsightly. The buildings overlooking the residences already there cannot be allowed, especially overlooking the adjacent Oaks community pool. 2) The visuals on the project should be just post of construction before landscaping to show what natural landscaping is left e.g., heritage oaks. Then a visual showing added landscaping post construction, one year out and then 5 years. Not 20+ years as the current visual depicts. There must be an issue with all wildlife. 3) 24 hour lighting has to be an ongoing issue with nighttime glare, etc. 4) 24 hour noise has to be an ongoing issue with traffic and delivery vehicles. Traffic is already an issue on FG Parkway. 5) Just adding a streetlight on the corner of TLH Drive and FG Parkway will not mitigate all the traffic this 4 th senior facility will bring to the residential area. Why not another type of project e.g., residential housing? Then Aegis is planning a 5 th ? We already have a Dr. Office, strip mall and Varenna in a residential neighborhood. I moved here for the country feel. 6) How will this benefit Sonoma County outside of taxes given most of the residents will likely be out of county given the cost to be a resident and the narrow use of land. One speaker moved from Florida to be a potential resident. 7) One speaker addressed the safety of these potential residents in other existing facilities such as Varenna, Vineyard Commons and Brighton Gardens. Perhaps this safety issue should be addressed before adding any additional designated Residential Care.
