<strong>THE</strong> ULTIMATE bUTT PLATE<br />
40-year old German company centra is best<br />
known for their sights but the big news<br />
for 2012 is a new butt plate which is very<br />
adjustable. It is compatible with all common<br />
match rifles. With right accessories it can<br />
be used in all ISSF disciplines and positions.<br />
It is manufactured by MEC, a close collaborator<br />
with centra. Other new products are<br />
tube-like rear sights Spy Short and Spy Long<br />
which are said to improve the sight picture.<br />
Under MEC brand come two new economy<br />
type buttstocks for air rifle and 22’s. They are<br />
not as widely adjustable as Mark I Start line<br />
but the price is more accommodating. They<br />
can be upgraded afterwards if so desired.<br />

Two gentlemen named Karl Westinger and<br />
Ernst Altenburger started Feinwerkbau business<br />
in Oberndorf in 1951. The gun production<br />
has started in 1956 with airguns. Feinwerkbau<br />
is still today renowned for their match grade<br />
air rifles and pistols, but 22 LR rifles and pistols<br />
are also part of the product palette. Third<br />
generation of Westingers and Alterburgers are<br />
managing the company now. Model 800, the<br />
newest of Feinwerkbau competition air rifles<br />
features a most versatile, futuristic looking,<br />
adjustable aluminum stock which dampens<br />
the vibrations. The pistol grip is available in<br />
three sizes, both right and left handed versions.<br />
The front hand rest is 3-axis adjustable.<br />
The trigger system is tuned for the shortest<br />
possible lock time. Air regulation system produces<br />
maximum number of competition shots.<br />
The cocking lever is freely adjustable and<br />
rotatable around its axis so it will not interfere<br />
with the rear sight. Available in March 2012.<br />
