The Year 7 course highlights evolution and more time is spent on aspects <strong>of</strong> this such as <strong>the</strong> origin <strong>of</strong> life, evidence for evolution and human evolution. OCR<br />

A level candidates would not study <strong>the</strong>se topics at all, IB(H) candidates may do if <strong>the</strong>y take Option D. These topics provide EB candidates with a ‘synoptic’<br />

aspect to <strong>the</strong> course as students are likely to draw toge<strong>the</strong>r knowledge from previous years.<br />

It is very hard to judge <strong>the</strong> level <strong>of</strong> detail required for <strong>the</strong> EB syllabus, but a perusal <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> two examination papers (2007 and 2008) and <strong>the</strong>ir mark schemes<br />

suggests it is very similar to A level and IB.<br />
