The EB paper favours reproduction <strong>of</strong> scientific knowledge, <strong>the</strong>re is limited evidence <strong>of</strong> pro<strong>of</strong>s required to<br />
show understanding. The Abitur however, relies on more open ended questions with a substantial part <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> paper given over to justification <strong>of</strong> answers. Students are led through <strong>the</strong> requirements <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> EB with<br />
graduated steps whereas <strong>the</strong> Abitur generally within each question makes <strong>the</strong> second part a more open<br />
ended question with a large mark allocation. Not knowing <strong>the</strong> source <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> papers makes it difficult to<br />
analyse since answers are actually recorded to <strong>the</strong> questions, in brackets. This could be a draft paper with<br />
additional information for <strong>the</strong> examiners, but it could also give <strong>the</strong> answers to allow students access to <strong>the</strong>
