GE Energy SVI II ESD Quick Start Table 7 Pushbutton Lock Security Level Level Security Level 3 Security Level 2 Security Level 1 Access Allow Local Buttons: Buttons on the SVI II ESD are fully enabled. Lock Out Local Calibration and Configuration: Use the buttons to perform operations in normal operating mode and manual mode. Do not go to configure or calibrate mode. Lock Out Local Manual/Setup Mode: Examine variables in normal operating mode but do not put the valve in manual operating mode. Access to calibrate or configure modes is not available. Security Level 0 Lock Out All Buttons: The buttons are disabled (level 0). Checking Pushbutton Lock Security Using ValVue ESD Before performing any functions with the local display, you must place the pushbuttons in the unlocked mode using ValVue ESD. The positioner is provided in the unlocked mode. To check the pushbutton lock security using ValVue ESD: 1. Select the installed ESD positioner from the list of Connected Devices as shown in Figure 21 and click Connect. 2. Select the Configure tab to view and change the current Button Lock configuration. Setup, Calibration and Hardware Configuration Lock Modes of Operation Additional security is achieved using the hardware configuration-lock jumper shown in Figure 16 on page 39. When set to the secure position, shorting the two-pin header, configuration and calibration are not permitted by the local interface or by remote communications. Pushbuttons, ValVue ESD and HHC 375 are locked out, except to examine configuration, calibration, and position. This is similar to Security Level 1 shown in Table 7 on page 48. Modes of Operation Device Trip To run setup and calibration the SVI II ESD must be in the correct operating mode. The SVI II ESD has three modes of operation: Normal Manual Setup Figure 22 on page 51 illustrates the menu structure of the NORMAL, MANUAL and SETUP modes of operation. When the SVI II ESD is powered up for the first time it is in the CONFIG (configuration) mode, since the device needs to be configured. The pneumatic output from the SVI II ESD goes to the failsafe state whenever the safety function is triggered or if one of the four critical alarms occurs. When tripped Tripped appears on the display, as well as ValVue ESD's user interface. The trip occurs irrespective of the mode that the SVI II ESD is in at that moment and then returns to the mode prior to the trip. If the LATCH function is enable, LATCHED appears on the display when tripped. The SVI II ESD remains latched even if the safety function is disengaged. To reset the latch condition, either: Use the local pushbuttons by clicking + three times until the word UNLATCH appears and then clicking on the *. or Use ValVue ESD and go to the alarm page and clicking the button Clear Latch. or Use a handheld or a HART host with the DD or DTM. or Wire a button to the DI terminal. The DI terminal resets the LATCH condition by means of a short circuit on its input. 49
