SVI II ESD Quick Start
NOTE
Install the Write Protect jumper on the SVI II ESD terminal
board for normal operation. Refer to the SVI II ESD
Instruction Manual SIL3, GEA18946 for further information.
Normal Operation
In Normal mode, the SVI II ESD responds to the input signal and positions the
ESD valve accordingly.
In configurations where the safety function is triggered by current, when the input
signal current falls below 5.6 mA, the SVI II ESD de-energizes the ESD valve. In
the same configuration, when the input signal current rises above 14 mA, the SVI
II ESD energizes the ESD valve.
In configurations where the safety function is triggered by a discrete 0 - 24 VDC
signal, when the input signal voltage falls below 3V, the SVI II ESD de-energizes
the ESD valve. In the same configuration, when the input signal voltage rises
above 18 V, the SVI II ESD energizes the ESD valve.
Manual Operation
Setup
In Manual mode, the valve does not respond to the input signal. Instead it remains
stable in the position that the valve was in when manual mode was entered or a
new position selected by using HART or pushbutton interface. However, the
Shutdown function is activated if the signal is less than 5.6 mA (ASD and A/DSD)
or 3 VDC (A/DSD and DSD).
In the Setup mode, you can set calibration and configuration parameters.
Additionally, you can run response time tests, step response tests, and valve
signatures.
