6 Intrinsically Safe Requirements<br />
6.1 DIV 2 (No I.S. Barrier)<br />
WARNING: EXPLOSION HAZARD – Do not disconnect equipment unless power has been switched<br />
off or the area is known to be non-hazardous.<br />
6.2 Category <strong>II</strong> (Zone 0)<br />
For operation in hazardous area Category <strong>II</strong> 1, over-voltage protection of the electrical connections needs<br />
to be installed according to EN 60079-14<br />
For operation in hazardous area Category <strong>II</strong> 1 the ambient temperature needs to be lowered according to<br />
the requirements of EN 1127-1 (reduction factor of 80%). The maximum allowed ambient temperature<br />
for Category 1 inclusive the requirement of EN1127-1 is:<br />
T6: Ta = -40°C to +43°C<br />
T5: Ta = -40°C to +55°C<br />
T4: Ta = -40°C to +83°C<br />
6.3 Category <strong>II</strong> 1 (Zone 0)<br />
“X” Marking on label - Since the <strong>SVI</strong>2-abcdefgh (“<strong>SVI</strong>-<strong>II</strong> <strong>ESD</strong>”) enclosures contain greater<br />
than 10% aluminum, care must be taken during installation to avoid impacts or friction that<br />
could create an ignition source.<br />
