Road surfaces require resealing from 15 to 25 years, depending on type of surface. This treatment does not correct road imperfections
such as general unevenness. A key challenge for this service is ensuring road surfaces are resealed prior to significant
failure which if not achieved may lead to much more expensive rehabilitation works.

Risks
Proposed road reseal funding is not sufficient to achieve
suitable renewal targets. It is therefore likely that road
condition will deteriorate resulting in increased
community dissatisfaction.
Delayed reseal will result in accelerated surface deterioration
which is likely to increase the need for pot hole patching,
heavy patching and road pavement rehabilitation.
Typically costs for these types of activities ranges from
$22.63 to $88.94 per sqm compared with reseal costs of
$8-$20 per sqm .
