Criminal Justice Administration<br />
The Associate of Applied Science Corrections Officer Administration prepares<br />
students to perform a variety of safety, enforcement, care, custody, and control of<br />
inmate-detainee functions within a correctional facility setting. The graduate will have<br />
the necessary training to work in corrections officer capacities including detention,<br />
prison, and corrections facility settings; local, county, and regional jails; state<br />
prison/corrections facilities; and some federal correction facility appointments. Many<br />
occupational opportunities also exist in the area of post-release supervision<br />
(community corrections) of offenders. This degree program is articulated with both<br />
Southern <strong>Oregon</strong> University and Governor’s State University in University Park, Illinois<br />
(online degree completion) for Bachelor’s degrees in criminal justice.<br />
The Associate of Applied Science Criminal Justice Administration Law<br />
Enforcement prepares students to perform a variety of safety, enforcement, and<br />
service functions within a city, county or special designated region. The graduate will<br />
have the necessary training to work in such law enforcement officer capacities as<br />
police officer, deputy sheriff, and some federal commissioned appointments. This<br />
degree program is articulated with both Southern <strong>Oregon</strong> University and Governor’s<br />
State University at University Park, Illinois (online degree completion) for Bachelor’s<br />
degrees in criminal justice.<br />
The Certificate of Completion Juvenile Corrections program, developed in<br />
cooperation with the <strong>Oregon</strong> Youth Authority and juvenile corrections practitioners in<br />
local college districts, is available and transferable among the participating colleges<br />
throughout the State of <strong>Oregon</strong>. Students completing the program will obtain a<br />
competitive advantage to fill available positions with the <strong>Oregon</strong> Youth Authority and<br />
with other providers of youth corrections services. Students will be trained in<br />
enforcement, care, custody, and control of juvenile and youth-detainee functions within<br />
a secure facility setting.<br />
