DESPITE THE VAST DIFFERENCES in their lives, people
with intellectual disabilities and their families all around
the world share a common experience. Through the
process of sharing those experiences like the ones that
resulted in this report, we are able to learn about systemic
barriers and identify common challenges. We also learn
about which strategies are successful in overcoming those
