range of in-home, residential and other<br />

community support services, including personal<br />

assistance necessary to support living and<br />

inclusion in the community, and to prevent<br />

isolation or segregation from the community;”<br />

The vast majority of people with intellectual disabilities<br />

around the world live at home with their families and the<br />

vast majority of those people who live at home do not<br />

receive the supports they need to live “independently” in<br />

the community, nor do their families receive the support<br />

they need to enable their family member to be included.<br />
