General Specifications<br />
1. The contractor should carefully examine the site conditions, make all the<br />
necessary investigation before quoting his rates.<br />
2. The contractor shall engage in authorised all time agent on this work capable of<br />
engaging and guiding the work and understanding the specifications. He will<br />
take orders as will be given by th4e Executive Engineer (E&M) or his<br />
representative and shall be responsible for carrying them out. This agency shall<br />
not be changed without prior intimation to the Executive Engineer (E&M) and<br />
his representative on the work site.<br />
3. The contractor will take all the precautions during the execution of work so as to<br />
cause any damage to any property and shall be responsible to make it good as<br />
directed by the Executive Engineer (E&M).<br />
4. Alignment and Bench marks : The alignment of the work is required to be made<br />
on ground as per plan and according to Deputy Engineers instructions. The<br />
temporary B.M. pillars is required to be prepared by the contractor, for getting<br />
correct levels, of work. The required temporary pillars are also to be created<br />
along side of alignment.<br />
5. Materials : Unless otherwise provided in the contract, all the materials required<br />
for the work are to be provided by the contractor. All the materials to be used in<br />
the work shall be of the best quality and must be got approved before they are<br />
used in the work. All these materials shall also confirm to the item wise<br />
specifications attached separately. All materials which are rejected shall be forth<br />
with removed from the site.<br />
The stacks of material measured shall simultaneously marked by the<br />
contractor by white lines as directed by the Executive Engineer (E&M) or his<br />
representative.<br />
6. Labour rates and Labour payments : All the acts and rules regarding payments<br />
and other conditions of employing labour on the work shall be binding on the<br />
contractor. The provisions of workmen’s compensation Act are also binding on<br />
Contractor.<br />
