purposes (revised) and mounted on a handle plate welded or riveted to the opening frame in such a<br />
way that it could be fixed before the shutter is glazed. The handle should have anodised finish with<br />
minimum anodic film thickness of 0.015 mm. The handle shall have a two-point nose, which, shall<br />
engage with an aluminium-striking place on the fixed frame in slightly open position as well as in fast<br />
position. The height of the handles in each type of side-hung shutters shall be fixed in approximate<br />
position as indicated in the relevant IS. The peg stay shall be either of cast aluminium con<strong>form</strong>ing to<br />
IS designation A-5-M of IS:617. Specification for aluminium and aluminium alloy ingots and casting<br />
for general engineering purpose (revised), or folded from IS designation NS $ aluminium alloy sheet<br />
con<strong>form</strong>ing to IS:737. Specification for wrought aluminium and aluminium alloys, sheet and strip (for<br />
general engineering purposes). It shall be 300mm long complete with peg and lick bracket. The stay<br />
shall two holes for keeping the shutter open in three positions. The peg and locking bracket shall be<br />
riveted or welded to the fixed frame.<br />
3. Top-Hung Ventilators : The aluminium hinges for tophung ventilators shall be either cast or<br />
fabricated out of extruded sections and shall be riveted to the fixed rail after cutting a slot in it. The<br />
aluminium alloy for cast hinges shall con<strong>form</strong> to IS designation A-5-M of IS: 617. Specification for<br />
aluminium and aluminium alloys, ingots and castings for general engineering purposes (Revised), and<br />
for extruded section of hinge to IS designation HE10-WP or HE30-WP of IS:733. Specification for<br />
wrought aluminium and aluminium alloys, bars, rods and sections (for general engineering purposes).<br />
The peg stay shall be 300 mm long as in side-hung shutter. The locking bracket shall be fixed to the<br />
fixed frame.<br />
4. Centre-Hung Ventilators : Centre-hung ventilators shall be hung on two pairs of cup pivots of<br />
aluminium alloy to IS designation NS-4 of IS:737. In the panels provided fixing glazing 6 mm sheet<br />
glass pane with size 1.5 mm less from all the sides of panel shall be fixed. A 6 mm size rubber/PVC<br />
gasket shall be fixed on four sides of glass pane using machine screw to be provided, not apart them<br />
300 mm, 6 x 6 mm aluminium beading shall be fixed on four sides of panel in such a fashion that<br />
glazing shall be at the centre of shutter frame. Over the beading already fixed glazing with<br />
rubber/PVC gasket provided shall be placed over which 6 mm x 6 mm aluminium beading shall be<br />
fixed using machine screw to be fixed not more than 300 mm c/c.<br />
25.4 Item to Include : The item includes all labour, materials and equipments to provide and fix the<br />
fully glazed anodised aluminium doors. It also includes, cleaning, polishing and anodizing aluminium<br />
section and fixing of approved fixtures. The fixtures are included in the item. For swinging type doors<br />
the floor spring box shall be paid as per Bd/B/13. Minimum fixture requirement is as given below:<br />
1) Handle - 1 No.<br />
2) Hinges - As directed by the Engineer in Charge Handle will be paid under this item.<br />
25.5 Mode of Measurement and Payment :<br />
(a) The aluminium sections used shall be measured in kg upto 1 gram. The rate for aluminium section<br />
shall be per kg.<br />
(b) The plain sheet glass shall be measured in sqm upto 2 decimals. The linear measurements shall<br />
be taken in m upto 1 cm. The rate for glass shall be per sqm.<br />
Item No:-2 Removing tiled flooring in all types of tiling or flooring i.e. Shahabad, Kotah, Cement,<br />
Marble Mosaic, Glazed, Ceramic tiles etc. including stacking the materials as directed with all leads<br />
and lifts.<br />
7.1 General : This item covers dismantling of all types of tiled flooring like Shahabad, Kotah, Cement,<br />
Marble mosaic, Glazed, Ceramic tiles etc. and stacking as per directions of the Engineer-in-charge,<br />
with all leads and lifts.<br />
7.2 Demolition Procedure : Generally for breaking of flooring the method for breaking of lime or plain<br />
cement concrete as described in item Gen/B/4.2 shall be adopted.<br />
Where dismantling special items like granite or marble flooring or dado ceramic tiles, special care is to<br />
be exercised to ensure least damage to the dismantled material. Tiles, marble and granite items, etc.<br />
shall be stacked after removing all adhering mortar and making the items in a ready for use condition.<br />
7.3 Safety Measures : All demolition work shall be carried out safely using procedures, which do not<br />
cause injuries to any person engaged in demolition work and nearby structures. Contractor shall<br />
