Stainless Steel Fittings : These shall be bright satin finish and shall be light/medium/heavy type.
The S.S. Road shall be out of hot rolled of specified size conforming to SS 316 along with
accessories holder and lock holder with sunk threads.
Screw Holes : The screw holes shall be suitable for sunk head wood screws and of specified
sizes. The size of the holes shall be such and counter sunk so that it will be able to accommodate the
full depth of counter sunk head of wood screw specified.
The accessories holders lock holders to be actually provided in a particular work shall
however, be decided by the Engineer-in-Charge. Screws used for holders and lock holders shall be
of the same metal, and finish as the fittings. However, chromium plated brass screws orstainless steel
screws shall be used for fixing aluminum fittings.
These shall be of the size as indicated in respective figures. The fittings to be actually
provided in a particular work shall however, be decided by the Engineer-in-Charge.
3.3 Fixing : The accessories holders, lock holder shall be fixed in proper position as shown in
the drawings or as directed by the Engineer-in- Charge. These shall be truly horizontal. Screws shall
be driven home with screw driver and not hammered in. The holes shall be drilled through the shutter.
In respect of iron copper fitting the bolt provided with accessories shall be placed through the shutter
and fixed with washer and nut.
In respect of brass, aluminium and stainless fitting, the holes shall be drilled for each
accessory holder through the shutter. The bolt with washer be screwed tight with the accessories
holders.
3.4 Item to Include : The item includes all labour, material, tools and equipment for
providing and fixing the Aldrop of specified material and size.
3.5 Mode of Measurement and Payment : The hinges of specified material and sizes are
recorded separately for each item and measured in numbers. The contract rate shall be per number of
hinges of specified material and size.
Item No 9 Providing and fixing tower bolts 12 mm diameter as per best engineering practice
conforming to IS: 204-1992 (Part I, II) for doors & windows with necessary materials and labour
complete.

4.1 General : The item pertains to providing and fixing 12 mm dia Tower Bolt of specified
material and sizes to doors and windows.
4.2 Material :
Stainless Steel Fittings : These shall be bright satin finish. The S.S. rod and flat shall be
provided out of hot rolled stainless steel wire and plate respectively of stipulated size and conform to
SS 316. The rod and plate shall be free from any defect, flow, bubbles, twist.
Screw Holes : The holes shall be suitable for counter sunk head wood screws and of
specified size. The size of counter sunk holes shall be such when counter sunk wood screw is fixed
the head of the screw of shall be accommodated in full depth of counter sunk hole.
The fittings to be actually provided in a particular work shall however, be decided by the
Engineer-in-Charge. Screws used for fittings shall be of the same metal, and finish as the fittings.
However, chromium plated brass screws or stainless steel screws shall be used for fixing aluminum
fittings. For stainless steel fitting stainless steel screws shall only be used. These shall be of the size
as indicated in respective figures.
