3.6 Mode of Measurement and Payment : The shutters shall be measured of the clear unrebated<br />

opening of the door in sqm. For combined with ventilators, the unrebated opening between the frame<br />

of the door and the unrebated of the ventilator opening between frame shall be measured. The<br />

dimensions shall be measured correct upto 1 cm. The contract rate shall be for one square metre.<br />

Item No 7 : 1 Providing and fixing hinges manufactured as per best engineering practice or as per IS<br />

wherever they apply for door & windows with necessary materials and labour costs etc. complete.<br />

D] Standard Stainless Steel Hinges<br />

2) 100 mm Size<br />

1.1 General : The item pertains to providing and fixing hinges of specified material and sizes<br />

to doors and windows.<br />

1.2 Material :<br />

Stainless Steel Fittings : These shall be bright satin finish. The same shall be manufactured out of not<br />

rolled plain stainless steel sheet without any defect, flaw twist, bubble con<strong>form</strong>ing SS 316.<br />

Hinge Pin : Hinge pin shall be made of hot rolled stainless steel wire con<strong>form</strong>ing to SS 316.<br />

The hinge pin shall be riveted and properly finished. The movement of hinge flaps shall be free, easy,<br />

without obstruction and shall not have any shake or play.<br />

Kunckles : The nos. of knuckles in each hinge flap shall not be less than 5 nos. for hinges<br />

upto 100 mm and for hinges of 125 mm the knuckles shall be 7 nos. The knuckles shall be straight<br />

and at right angle to flap.<br />

Screw Holes : The screw holes shall be suitable for counter sunk wood screws and shall be of<br />

equal nos. of knuckles in each flap. The sizes of screws shall be different as specified. The size of<br />

holes shall be such and counter sunk so that it will accommodate full depth of counter sunk head of<br />

wood screw.<br />

The fittings to be actually provided in a particular work shall however, be decided by the<br />

Engineer-in-Charge.<br />

Screws used for fittings shall be of the same metal, and finish as the fittings. However,<br />

chromium plated brass screws or stainless steel screws shall be used for fixing aluminium fittings.<br />

These shall be of the size as indicated in respective figures.<br />

1.3 Fixing : Fittings shall be fixed in proper position as shown in the drawings or as directed by the<br />

Engineer-in-Charge. These shall be truly vertical or horizontal as the case may be. Screws shall be<br />

driven home with screw driver and not hammered in. Recesses shall be cut to the exact size and<br />

depth in the frame for the countersinking of hinges.<br />

1.4 Item to Include : The item includes all labour, material, tools and equipment for<br />

providing and fixing the hinges of specified material and size.<br />

1.5 Mode of Measurement and Payment: The hinges of specified material and sizes<br />

are recorded separately for each item and measured in numbers. The contract rate shall be per<br />

number of hinges of specified material and size.<br />

Item No 8 Providing and fixing aldrops of 16mm diameter bars manufactured as per best<br />

engineering practice wherever they apply for doors and windows with necessary materials and labour<br />

etc. complete.<br />

K] Standard Stainless Steel make Aldrop (IS:2681-1993)<br />

2) 300 mm Long<br />

3.1 General : The item pertains to providing and fixing 16 mm dia Aldrop of specified material<br />

and sizes to doors and windows.<br />
