Replacement of damaged shutters of inspection chambers, Providing Paving blocks to pump house,
Providing Cain at pure water pump house at WTP Lote and Ram, Shed & Collapsible shutters at
Jackwell Wallope.
Item No 1: Providing and fixing anodised aluminium fixed glazing shutter with outer frame made
up of bottom section as per requirement including 6 mm thick clear sheet glass fixed by means of
triangular clips or flush glazing system, with rubber gaskets as approved by the dept., including
finishing, cleaning, polishing the aluminium section with petrol and / or other agents as specified by
the manufacturer etc. complete.

25.1 General : The item pertains to providing and fixing anodized aluminium fixed glazing shutter
conforming to IS: 1943.
25.2 Material : The aluminium sections for door shall be as described below :
Outer Frame : 100 x 45 mm tube section AL-HK 15 section weighing
approx. 1.547 kg/m
Shutter Bottom & Top : 45 x 100 mm tube section
Shutter Vertical : 40 x 100 mm tube section
Sheet Glass : 6 mm thick clear float glass conforming to IS:2835- 1991. Rubber gasket, tower bolts,
decorative type handles, steel latches and other fixtures and fastenings shall be approved by the
Engineer-incharge.
25.3 Fabrication & Fixing :
25.3.1 Fixed Glazing Shutter :
1. Frames : Frames shall be square and flat, the corners of the frame being fabricated to a true right
angle. Both the fixed and opening frames shall be constructed of sections, which have been cut to
length, mitred and connected at the corners.
25.3.2 Openeable Shutter:

2. Side-hung Shutters : For fixing aluminium alloy hinges, slots shall be cut in the fixed frame and the
hinges inserted inside and may be riveted to the frame. The hinges shall normally be of the projecting
type 67 mm wide. The aluminium alloy for cast hinges shall conform to IS designation A-5 M of IS:617
latest edition. Specification for aluminium and aluminium alloy ingots and castings for general
engineering purposes (revised) and for extruded section of hinges to IS designation HE10-WP or
HE30-WP of IS:733. Specification for wrought aluminium and aluminium alloys HR30. Irrespective of
hinges being anodised or not, the aluminium alloy pins shall be anodised to a minimum film thickness
of 0.025 mm and shall be sealed with oil, wax or lanolin. Non-projecting types of hinges may also be
used, where agreed to between the purchaser and the supplier.
Friction hinges may be provided for side-hung shutter windows, in which case peg stay as
mentioned below may not be required. The working principle of the friction hinge is illustrated. The
handle for side hung shutters shall be of cast aluminium conforming to IS designation A-5-M of
IS:617. Specification for aluminium and aluminium alloy ingots and castings for general engineering
