The blocks shall be cured placing in the water tank totally submerged for 21 days. Alternatively steam
curing can also be resorted to :
For bedding for placing blocks the pavement 75 mm thick sand bedding shall be provided.
For joints in the block C.M. 1:3 mortar shall be used.
28.3 Laying : The area to be paved shall be cleaned, cleared of foreign material and leveled
properly. The top such prepared surface subgrade shall 150 mm tower than finished level of blocks as
stipulated. The area shall be thoroughly watered. 75 mm thick sand shall be spread over prepared
subgrade to proper line and level. The sand spread shall be watered and rammed thin layer of the fine
sand shall be spread to fill in undulations to achieve required line and level.
The precast pavement blocks shall be laid to required line and level duly interlocked. The
pavement blocks such laid shall be subjected to surface vibrator thereby achieving total interlocking
and compaction. The gaps at side, if any, shall be filled in with cement concrete M-20 grade for a
depth of 60 mm and upper 15 mm C.C. M-20 grade with white cement adding colour pigment to
match the colour of pavement blocks and compacted. The pavement such laid shall cured for 21
days.
28.4 Item to Include : All material, C.C. M-20 grade shuttering, labour, sand for bedding
equipments such as plate vibrator, surface vibrator, moulds, white cement, colour pigments
etc.
28.5 Mode of Measurement and Payment : The area of provided with pavement blocks
including gaps at sides if any shall be measured in sq.meters and quantity worked out to two
decimals.
Item No 15 Providing and fixing in position collapsible steel shutters with vertical channels 20 x 10 x 2
mm & braced with flat iron diagonals 20 x 5 mm size top & bottom T section 40 x 40 x 6 mm size 30
mm steel pulleys complete with bolts-nuts, locking arrangements, stoppers, handles and painting of
two coats of synthetic enamel over 1 coat of red oxide zinc chromate primer. All labour and materials
complete.
34.1 General : The item pertains to providing and fixing collapsible steel gates in one or two leaves as
per drawing or as directed.
34.2 Material : The gates shall be of the approved design and fabricated out of best quality mild steel
channel, flats etc.
34.3 Fabrication : Dimensions and other particular shall be as under unless other design is shown in
the drawings or approved by the Engineer-incharge. Channel Pickets shall be of 20 mm mild steel
channels of heavy section or as shown in the drawings. The centre to centre distance of channel
pickets shall be 120 mm with an opening of 100 mm or as per drawing. Mild steel flats shall be 20 mm
x 6 mm or as per drawing. Top and bottom guides shall be tee or flat iron of approved size. Other
fittings like stoppers, fixing holdfasts, locking cleats, MS handles, MS locking system and MS rollers
shall be of approved design and size. The fitting shall be done with good workmanship. The gate
shall open and close smoothly and easily. All work cut and distributed in fixing shall be made good to
match the existing. The bottom runner shall be sunk level with the floor and proper grooves shall be
formed along the runner.
34.4 Painting : One coat of red oxide zinc chromate primer and two coats of synthetic enamel paint.
34.5 Item to Include : The item includes all labour, material, tools and equipment for fabricating the
collapsible gate, painting and fixing in position.
