The fittings to be actually provided in a particular work shall however, be decided by the<br />

Engineer-in-Charge.<br />

4.3 Fixing : Fittings shall be fixed in proper position as shown in the drawings or as directed<br />

by the Engineer-in-Charge. These shall be truly vertical or horizontal as the case may be. Screws<br />

shall be driven home with screw driver and not hammered in. Recesses shall be cut to the exact size<br />

and depth for the countersinking of tower bolts.<br />

The height of knob of tower bolt for the door, window etc. in closed position, from the floor<br />

level shall be not more than 1.9 metre or as directed.<br />

4.4 Item to Include : The item includes all labour, material, tools and equipment for<br />

providing and fixing the Tower Bolt of specified material and size.<br />

4.5 Mode of Measurement and Payment : The tower bolts of specified material and sizes<br />

are recorded separately for each item and measured in numbers.<br />

The contract rate shall be per number of tower bolts of specified<br />

material and size.<br />

Item No :-10 Providing and fixing handles manufactured as per IS:208-1992 for<br />

doors and with all materials like screws etc. and all labour complete.<br />

Stainless Steel Fittings : These shall be bright satin finish. The S.S. rod and flat shall be provided out<br />

of hot rolled stainless steel wire and plate respectively of stipulated size and con<strong>form</strong> to SS 316. The<br />

rod and plate shall be free from any defect, flow, bubbles, twist.<br />

Screw Holes : The holes shall be suitable for counter sunk head wood screws and of<br />

specified size. The size of counter sunk holes shall be such when counter sunk wood screw is fixed<br />

the head of the screw of shall be accommodated in full depth of counter sunk hole.<br />

Engineer-in-Charge.<br />

Screws used for fittings shall be of the same metal, and finish as the fittings. However,<br />

chromium plated brass screws or stainless steel screws shall be used for fixing aluminum fittings.<br />

These shall be of the size as indicated in respective figures.<br />

The handles of standard size and design, con<strong>form</strong>ing to IS:208, as approved by the Engineerin-charge<br />

shall be used. The sample, approved shall be kept in the office of the Engineer-in-charge for<br />

verification. The fittings to be actually provided in a particular work shall however, be decided by the<br />

Engineer-in-Charge.<br />

5.3 Fixing : Fittings shall be fixed in proper position as shown in the<br />
