Chapter 5: Project implementation: field work<br />
This chapter covers actual project implementation and deals with<br />
some of the basic field activities, such as: boundary demarcation<br />
and mapping, inventory, stratification, measuring <strong>carbon</strong> pools,<br />
identification and quantification of leakage, stakeholder consultation<br />
and monitoring activities .The chapter concludes with references to<br />
websites where tools and additional guidance can be found.<br />
Chapter 6: Identifying, managing and quantifying risks<br />
Managing risk is crucial <strong>for</strong> guiding <strong>for</strong>estry VCM projects towards<br />
successful outcomes. All <strong>for</strong>estry VCM projects will face some risk,<br />
including <strong>for</strong>est fires, land-use conflicts, and corruption. This chapter<br />
outlines strategies <strong>for</strong> preventing and managing technical, financial,<br />
legal, political, and natural risks. A risk assessment tool is provided <strong>for</strong><br />
potential project developers.<br />
