Interreligious Foundation for<br />
Community Organization (IFCO)<br />
IFCO is a national ecumenical agency created<br />
in 1966 by several Protestant, Roman<br />
Catholic <strong>and</strong> Jewish organizations, to be an<br />
interreligious, interracial agency for support <strong>of</strong><br />
community organization <strong>and</strong> education in pursuit<br />
<strong>of</strong> social justice. Through IFCO, national<br />
<strong>and</strong> regional religious bodies collaborate in<br />
development <strong>of</strong> social justice strategies <strong>and</strong><br />
provide financial support <strong>and</strong> technical assistance<br />
to local, national <strong>and</strong> international socialjustice<br />
projects.<br />
IFCO serves as a bridge between the<br />
churches <strong>and</strong> communities <strong>and</strong> acts as a<br />
resource for ministers <strong>and</strong> congregations wishing<br />
to better underst<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> do more to advance<br />
the struggles <strong>of</strong> the poor <strong>and</strong> oppressed. IFCO<br />
conducts workshops for community organizers<br />
<strong>and</strong> uses its national <strong>and</strong> international network<br />
<strong>of</strong> organizers, clergy <strong>and</strong> other pr<strong>of</strong>essionals to<br />
act in the interest <strong>of</strong> justice.<br />
<strong>Churches</strong>, foundations <strong>and</strong> individual donors<br />
use IFCO services as a fiscal agent to make<br />
donations to community organizing projects.<br />
IFCO’s global outreach includes humanitarian<br />
aid shipments through its Pastors for Peace<br />
program to Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, Honduras,<br />
<strong>and</strong> Chiapas, Mexico.<br />

The Liturgical Conference<br />
The Liturgical Conference works to renew<br />
liturgy within the churches for the reunion <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Body <strong>of</strong> Christ for the life <strong>of</strong> the world.<br />
As an ongoing movement with the ecumenical<br />
church, founded in 1944, it seeks to provide an<br />
ecumenical forum for articulating st<strong>and</strong>ards <strong>of</strong><br />
liturgical excellence <strong>and</strong> for supporting persons<br />
who have a common interest <strong>and</strong> concern for the<br />
liturgical life <strong>and</strong> the liturgical arts <strong>of</strong> the church.<br />
It is the publisher <strong>of</strong> the journals Liturgy <strong>and</strong><br />

The Lombard Mennonite Peace Center<br />
(LMPC) is a nonpr<strong>of</strong>it organization with the<br />
mission “to proclaim Christ’s good news, the<br />
gospel <strong>of</strong> peace <strong>and</strong> justice—<strong>and</strong> to be active in<br />
the sacred ministry <strong>of</strong> reconciliation.” With an<br />
emphasis on equipping clergy <strong>and</strong> churches to<br />
function in healthy ways, LMPC <strong>of</strong>fers training<br />
in conflict transformation <strong>and</strong> in a family systems<br />
approach to church leaders’ management<br />
<strong>of</strong> themselves <strong>and</strong> their congregations.<br />
One- <strong>and</strong> two-day educational workshops<br />
<strong>and</strong> a five-day “Mediation Skills Training<br />
Institute for Church Leaders” are <strong>of</strong>fered<br />
throughout the U.S. Ongoing clergy clinics provide<br />
church leaders with regular opportunities<br />
to reflect on their own functioning. LMPC also<br />
provides educational events, consultation <strong>and</strong><br />
mediation services for congregations <strong>and</strong> judicatories<br />
<strong>of</strong> all denominations, as well as consultation<br />
for individual clergy.<br />
Founded in 1983 as a ministry <strong>of</strong> a local congregation,<br />
LMPC became an independent,<br />
501(c)3 corporation in 1997.<br />
