The National Association <strong>of</strong><br />
Evangelicals<br />
The National Association <strong>of</strong> Evangelicals<br />
(NAE) is a voluntary fellowship <strong>of</strong> evangelical<br />
denominations, churches, organizations <strong>and</strong><br />
individuals demonstrating unity in the body <strong>of</strong><br />
Christ by st<strong>and</strong>ing for biblical truth, speaking<br />
with a representative voice, <strong>and</strong> serving the<br />
evangelical community through united action,<br />
cooperative ministry <strong>and</strong> strategic planning.<br />
The association is comprised <strong>of</strong> approximately<br />
45,000 congregations nationwide from<br />
52 member denominations <strong>and</strong> fellowships, as<br />
well as several hundred independent churches.<br />
The membership <strong>of</strong> the association includes<br />
over 250 parachurch ministries <strong>and</strong> educational<br />
institutions. Through the cooperative ministry<br />
<strong>of</strong> these members, NAE directly <strong>and</strong> indirectly<br />
benefits over 30 million people. These ministries<br />
represent a broad range <strong>of</strong> theological<br />
traditions, but all subscribe to the distinctly<br />
evangelical NAE Statement <strong>of</strong> Faith. The association<br />
is a nationally recognized entity by the<br />
public sector with a reputation for integrity <strong>and</strong><br />
effective service.<br />
The cooperative ministries <strong>of</strong> the National<br />
Association <strong>of</strong> Evangelicals demonstrate the<br />
association’s intentional desire to promote<br />
cooperation without compromise.<br />

National Bible Association<br />
The National Bible Association is an<br />
autonomous, interfaith organization <strong>of</strong> lay people<br />
who advocate regular Bible reading <strong>and</strong> sponsors<br />
National Bible Week (Thanksgiving week) each<br />
November. Program activities include public service<br />
advertising, distribution <strong>of</strong> nonsectarian literature<br />
<strong>and</strong> thous<strong>and</strong>s <strong>of</strong> local Bible Week observances<br />
by secular <strong>and</strong> religious organizations.<br />
The Association also urges constitutionally<br />
acceptable use <strong>of</strong> the Bible in public school<br />
classrooms, i.e., the study <strong>of</strong> the Bible in literature.<br />
All support comes from individuals, corporations<br />
<strong>and</strong> foundations.<br />
Founded in 1940 by a group <strong>of</strong> business <strong>and</strong><br />
pr<strong>of</strong>essional people, the Association <strong>of</strong>fers daily<br />
Bible readings in several English <strong>and</strong> Spanish<br />
translations on its website <strong>and</strong> has the IRS nonpr<strong>of</strong>it<br />
status <strong>of</strong> a 501(c)(3) educational association.<br />

The National Conference for<br />
Community <strong>and</strong> Justice<br />
The National Conference for Community <strong>and</strong><br />
Justice, founded in 1927 as the National<br />
Conference <strong>of</strong> Christians <strong>and</strong> Jews, is a human<br />
relations organization dedicated to fighting bias,<br />
bigotry <strong>and</strong> racism in America. The NCCJ promotes<br />
underst<strong>and</strong>ing <strong>and</strong> respect among all<br />
races, religions <strong>and</strong> cultures through advocacy,<br />
conflict resolution <strong>and</strong> education.<br />
Programmatic strategies include interfaith <strong>and</strong><br />
interracial dialogue, youth leadership workshops,<br />
workplace training, human relations research,<br />
<strong>and</strong> the building <strong>of</strong> community coalitions. NCCJ<br />
has 65 regional <strong>of</strong>fices staffed by approximately<br />
350 people. Nearly 200 members comprise the<br />
National Board <strong>of</strong> Advisors <strong>and</strong> members from<br />
that group form the 27-member National Board<br />
<strong>of</strong> Directors. Each regional <strong>of</strong>fice has its own<br />
Regional Board <strong>of</strong> Directors with a total <strong>of</strong> about<br />
2,800. The National Board <strong>of</strong> Advisors meets<br />
once annually, the National Board <strong>of</strong> Directors at<br />
least three times annually.<br />
