Bible Way Church of Our Lord
Jesus Christ World Wide, Inc.
This body was organized in 1957 in the
Pentecostal tradition for the purpose of accelerating
evangelistic and foreign missionary commitment
and to effect a greater degree of collective
leadership than leaders found in the body in
which they had previously participated.
The doctrine is the same as that of the Church
of Our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith,
Inc., of which some of the churches and clergy
were formerly members.
This organization has churches and missions in
Brethren in Christ Church
The Brethren in Christ Church was founded in
Lancaster County, Pa. in about the year 1778 and
was an outgrowth of the religious awakening
which occurred in that area during the latter part of
the 18th century. This group became known as
“River Brethren” because of their original location
near the Susquehanna River. The name “Brethren
in Christ” was officially adopted in 1863. In theology
they have accents of the Pietist, Anabaptist,
Wesleyan and Evangelical movements.
The Brethren Evangelist
Calvary Chapel
Calvary Chapel is a non-denominational
Christian church which began in 1965 in Costa
Mesa, California. Calvary Chapel’s pastor, Chuck
Smith became a leading figure in what has
become known as the “Jesus Movement.”
It has been estimated that in a two-year period in
the mid ‘70s, Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa had
performed well over eight thousand baptisms.
During that same period, we were instrumental in
20,000 conversions to the Christian faith. Our
decadal growth rate had been calculated by church
growth experts to be near the ten thousand percent
level. Calvary Chapel also ministers over the airwaves,
and this must account for many of those who
travel long distances to fellowship here. A Nielsen
survey indicated that our Sunday morning Calvary
Chapel service is the most listened-to program in
