President Leo Leonardi presided,
and past president. Bill Houser,
inducted the 14 Golden Legiormaires:
Walt Pearson, Iowa; Bob Towner,
Ohio; Bob Schenz, Ohio; Ben Stormes,
Ohio; Stu MacDonald, Cornell; Gene
WUliams, Florida; EnsUe Schilb,
Westminster; Joe Robbins, Florida;
Harry Dewell, Florida; Paul Singleton,
Florida; BUI Wynee, Florida; Kell
Hermessy, Florida; and David Hess,
Penn State.
The club also recognized new
PaUadians. Those receiving 55-year
charms were: Clark Bailey, Illinois;
Pat Eddie, Kentucky; Lyman Cherry,
DePauw; Ord Fink, Syracuse; Wendell
Green, Indiana; Gray Morgan, Georgia
Tech; Robert Morgan, Auburn; and
Joe Thomas, Ohio. Thomas Martin,
Indiana; received his 60-year charm.
VALLEY OF THE SUN
On March 5,78 Phis and friends
gathered at Monti's to celebrate
Founders Day. Paul Mayfield,
Indiana; and NeU Sorenson, Minnesota,
joined the Golden Legion.
Several other brothers received
PaUadian recognition for reaching 55,
60,65, and 70 years of being a Phi.
Shelby Gerking, DePauw; and John
Entz, Arizona; received 55-year pins,
Thomas Craig, Ohio; and BUI Grace,
Arizona, received 60-year pins.

year pin. Paul Weikert, Miami; Bill
Norvell, Oklahoma; and BUI Beal,
ASU, entered the Silver Legion.
Paul Weikert started strong with
several songs of the Fraternity. Next
year Brother Walt Franklin has been
designated as song leader.
We have already set the date for
next year's Founders Day as March 4,
1994, at Monti's in Tempe. AU Phis
and guests are invited.
WICHITA
Our Founders Day was held at the
newly opened Kansas Delta chapter
house on March 30. Tours of the new
house were given by Clark Jackson,
Buck Alley, Maury Breidenthal,
Frank Preist, and new house mom,
SteUa Leiszler. Several guests joined
us, including Bob Deloian, General
Council member-at-large, and his
son, Clark, Greg Soska, director of
alumni services, and Oliver Samuel,
province president.
The business meeting included
club officer reports and reports from
representatives of the Kansas
chapters. The new club officers are:
president, Dan Manson; freasiu'er,
Mike Dowriing; vice presidentmembership,
Shane
Goldsmith; social
chairman, Tracey
Faulkner; and secretary,
Lonnie Glen.

from Emporia State won
otu- second $250
scholarship as the
Outstanding Phikeia in
Kansas. George
Fahnestock
was named
our 1993 Phi of
the Year, and a
service award
was presented
to Clark
Jackson for his
efforts with the alunmi club.
We honored several area alumni
into the Silver and Golden Legions.
Silver Legionnaires are: Bill Hatton,
Wichita State; Bob Geist, Wichita State;
Jim Remsberg, Kansas; Kent Thompson,
Wichita State; and Byron WUey,
Wichita State. Mu West President
OUver Samuel inducted Golden
Legiormaires: Clay Hedrick, Kansas;
and Scott Piper, Kansas, received the
pin for his father, Richard Piper,
Kansas, who was unable to attend.
PaUadians are: Frank Bangs, Kansas;
Charles Heilmann, Washburn; Al
McClure, Kansas; Luther Parman,
Chicago; George Sabin, Vermont;
Clem SUvers, Washburn; and WiUard
Walpole, SMU.
Our golf tournament is being
planned in conjunction with Kansas
Delta's DuUeau Classic. GoU Committee
chairman, Tracey Faulkner,
added Dick Prather, Lormie Glen,
and Byron WUey to the conunittee.
Kelly Reich heads our Aluirmi
Directory Committee. The club
thanks Brett Prather for taking
photos of Founders Day.
