John B. Jackson Atlanta
Alumni Club president and
civic leader
John B. Jackson, Georgia Tech '45, the former executive vice
president of the Atlanta Aliunni Club died February 4,
1993, in Atlanta, Georgia, after a being diagnosed with
cancer. He was 70 years old.
Jackson was associated with the Guardian Insurance
Company of America for 45 years and was a life and
quaUfying member of the Million Dollar Round Table.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and
the Korean War. He was active in the Presbyterian
Chiu-ch, serving as an elder. He was also a member of the
Cherokee Town & Country Club, the Buckhead Club, and
the Peachtree Racket
A former president of Epsilon North and chapter
adviser for Georgia Delta, Jackson involved himself in all
Phi Delta Theta activities in Georgia. He was widely
known by alumni and undergraduates throughout the
state.
He is svirvived by his son, Donald T. Jackson, Auburn
'82, who recently succeeded his father as president of the
Atlanta Alumni Club.
A memorial scholarship fimd is being estabhshed
through the Phi Delta Theta Foimdation. •
