44116. Rush Chairman - Gery Silverhart, 480
Lehman #217, Bowling Green, OH 43402. In the
past two semesters, the Phis of Ohio Kappa have
made improvementstoourchapterhouse, hosted
asuccessful philanthropy, participated in the Ohio
Highway Department's "Adopt a Highway"
program, and have a new philanthropic activity on
the drawing board.
BrotherCraig Crock generously donated his
time and money into reproducing composites from
1949-1980 that were destroyed in af lood a
number of years ago. These men now have their
photos proudly displayed throughoutthe chapter
house, and it gives current members and Phikeias
an idea of just how Phi Delta Theta has grown
and evolved at BGSU. This was BrotherCrock's
goodbye gift to the chapter.
Once again, Ohio Kappa, along with Delta
Gammasorority, hosted tiie "AnchorSplash"
philanthropy at BGSU's Cooper Pool, This event
was highly successful and raised money to aid in
sight conservation,
Ohio Kappa is currently seeking a new chapter
adviser, and we hope to find an alumnus in the
Bowling Green-Toledo area that could fill this
position.
Brothers Jon Alder and Jeff Reider attended
the annual MIFC/V/MAPCA conference in
Columbus, Ohio. Both men had a chance to meet
Phis and otherGreeks from all overthe midwest
Ourchapterrecently participated in Ohio's
"Adopt a Highway" program, so if you're near 1-75
between Toledo and Bowling Green, you'll see a
road sign bearing the chapter's name!
Ohio Kappa also has a new philanthropy in the
works. We hope to hold an event in the University
Union Oval this fall in order to raise money to help
fight Lou Gehrig's Disease.
We are also developing new rush strategies to
remain competitive. With another Fraternity
reestablishing themselves here at BGSU, rush
has become almost cut-throat. This spring we
elected a rush committee to ensureasuccessful
fall rush. Thecommittee, chaired by BrotherGary
Silverhart, consists mainly of young, highly
motivated brothers, —David W, Stubblebine
